THE BEHAVIOR OF URBAN COMMUNITIES IN PLANTING USEFUL PLANTS IN THE YARD DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic that forces restrictions on movement between people is thought to impact the utilization of yards in urban areas positively. However, there not much information about yard management practices, including plant species managed by communities. In framework biodiversity conservation, this research aims explore variety planted yards, area ??managed and planting motivation community, especially during COVID-19 pandemic. The was conducted from May August 2020 using an online questionnaire (Google Form), direct interviews with target respondents consisted communities spread across two major cities Lampung Province, i.e. Metro City Bandar City. findings showed only 8% various useful pandemic, while rest them long before occurred. groups commonly owned were ornamental plants (70%), 30% existing medicinal spices. motivations included enjoying yield (herbs medicine), filling spare time, enjoy gardening love plants, making house beautiful cool, even it for sale. Of five goals or highest, followed desire have a gardening. This condition believed continue exist though modernization expanding.
